1977 session that leans heavily on 1976's classic Small Change and ends with the
brilliant "Emotional Weather Report" from Nighthawks At The Diner. Classic and

WLVR 6 MILES DAVIS : WBCN BROADCAST 1972-LIVE AT PAUL'S MALL LP 02.2019

Miles Davis and his electric group of the early '70s is some of the most innovative
and important jazz music ever set to tape. While the studio recordings are amazing,
they often pale in comparison to the loose, improvisational and fiery heights that
the group could reach in front of a live audience (as was captured on Live-Evil
(1971), In Concert (1973), and Miles Davis At Fillmore (1970), among others). This
set from September of 1972 is no exception. Recorded just prior to the release of
On The Corner (1972), this stellar performance features tracks from that classic as
well as Jack Johnson (1971) and Bitches Brew (1970). Featuring the great guitar work
of his live band staple, Reggie Lucas, and the phenomenal saxophonist Carlos Garnett,
this is early '70s electric Miles at its finest, a brilliant radio broadcast.

Vincent Damon Furnier, known to the world by his stage name Alice Cooper, is one
of the greatest legends of glam and hard-rock in history. After growing up in Detroit,
Cooper's band, originally named "Alice Cooper" before he took on the name for himself,
began in Phoenix in the late '60s and burst into national and international stardom
in 1971 with the classic hit "I'm Eighteen". Featuring classics like "Billion Dollar
Babies", "School's Out", and a bunch of great tunes off of the 1975 classic Welcome
To My Nightmare, this is a brilliant live show from 1978 in a triumphant return to
Cooper's home state of Michigan. An essential live broadcast from the Godfather of
Shock Rock.

        13. ONE FOR THE RAZORBACKS (ACOUSTIC)

One of the most notorious concerts in the history of Green Day's career and the
'90s era. In true punk spirit Billy Joe Armstrong's first words to the 3-day rain
soaked and angry crowd were ""What is this free fucking hippy love shit? How are
you doing, you rich motherfuckers?" They would exit the festival by helicopter but
not before Mike Dirnt got a tooth chipped after being tackled by a security guard.
It was truly a shitshow but the performance is great and epic and necessary for all
'90s alternative and punk fans.

1971 was a year of big change for Frank Zappa and his Mothers Of Invention. He shook
up the group’s membership significantly and was making big changes in his sound and
vision, and really creating some of the greatest music of his career. The group had
played a gig earlier in the evening and then recorded this mostly acoustic set for
broadcast on CKGM-FM radio. The set finds Zappa backed by the former Turtles Mark
Volman and Howard Kaylan (aka The Phlorescent Leech & Eddie), as well as Ian Underwood,
Aynsley Dunbar and more. A killer set of truly original music from one of the USA’s
greatest ever musical exports.
